Public lecture on "Urban Microclimate · Green Architecture" for Popular Meteorological Science Lecture Series - "Weather-ready, Climate-smart" at Hong Kong Science Museum jointly organised by the Hong Kong Science Museum, the Hong Kong Meteorological Society and the Hong Kong Observatory
The intense urban heat island effect in Hong Kong means high temperature in built-up areas, which leads to heat stress and other related health problems. The issues of health and comfort in urban space become even more complicated in face of the challenges brought about by climate change. With better understanding of the dynamics between the built environment and the microclimate, and advocacy of green buildings, could we design a more livable and healthier urban environment?
